Get ready to dive into the world of felting as you choose between two exquisite options: a Silk Georgette or Wool Base scarf, available in white or black.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll have access to a vibrant array of materials, including a wall adorned with coloured light merino wool fibres, silk yarn, wool yarn, and stunning recycled silk sari fabrics. These materials will ignite your creativity and help you bring your envisioned design to life.

What you will learn:

During the workshop, we will cover the following key techniques:

1. Wool Felting Technique:

• Learn how to layer and shape wool fibres to create a lightweight, soft, and quite warm scarf.
• Discover the art of wet felting and the process of shrinking the wool fibres to achieve a desired size and texture.
• Experiment with different colours and textures to add depth and visual interest to your scarf design.

2.    Nuno Felting Technique:

• Explore the delicate beauty of combining wool fibres with a light, transparent silk georgette scarf.
• Master the art of fusing wool fibres to the silk base (known as Nuno Felting), creating a lightweight scarf with a unique texture and drape.
• Explore the interplay of colours and transparency as you bring your design to life on the silk georgette scarf.

Who Should Attend:   No prior felting experience is necessary. This workshop is designed for both beginners and those with some felting knowledge who are eager to expand their skills.

Materials Provided:     Fine merino wool rovings, felting mats, soap, water, basic felting tools, and a beautiful array of fibre embellishments.

• Full refunds are given for cancellations made up to 5 days before the workshop start date.  Alternatively you can rebook another date if available.
• Full refund given or alternative dates offered if the workshop is cancelled by The Fabric and Felt Studio
• Cancellations made within 5 days of the workshop will incur a 20% cancellation fee based on the workshop cost, applicable regardless of the reason for cancellation, including illness or other unforeseen circumstances.  
• No refunds will be issued if cancelled on the day, or once a two day workshop has begun. 
• No refund will be issued for no-shows.
• If you are unable to attend, please consider gifting the workshop to avoid any cancellation fee.
